About the role
Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Jacksonville, FL that is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to evaluate emerging AI technologies, develop rapid prototypes, and help drive adoption of intelligent solutions across the organization. This individual will partner with technical and business teams to identify opportunities, design scalable solutions, and bring AI-driven initiatives from concept through production. Key Responsibilities:
AI Engineer will stay current with emerging AI technologies, tools, frameworks, and industry trends to inform solution design and technology recommendations
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business challenges and develop AI-powered solutions that improve automation, insights, and operational efficiency
Build and prototype applications that leverage modern AI capabilities and integrate with existing systems, platforms, and data sources
Provide guidance on AI architecture, implementation strategies, and technology selection while balancing performance, scalability, security, and cost considerations
Lead projects through the full development lifecycle, including discovery, design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization
As an AI Engineer, you will support both software engineering and data-focused initiatives as business priorities evolve
Promote best practices, reusable frameworks, and knowledge sharing to accelerate AI adoption across teams
Effectively manage multiple initiatives while serving as a technical advisor, engineer, problem solver, and collaborator in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; Advanced degree preferred
3+ years of software development experience, including building AI-enabled applications or automation solutions
Experience creating proof-of-concept solutions and evaluating emerging AI technologies for business use
Strong application development skills with experience integrating AI capabilities into existing systems and workflows
Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
Passion for continuous learning and staying current with advancements in AI and software engineering
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare
Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern deployment practices
Background developing AI-powered applications, automation tools, or internal business platforms
Familiarity with generative AI, conversational AI, workflow automation, and intelligent assistant technologies
Exposure to building reusable frameworks, shared services, or enterprise technology platforms
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Qualifications
