Java Software Engineer
Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design and support enterprise applications and APIs that process high volumes of insurance licensing and compliance data. This role sits on an Agile delivery team and works across the full development lifecycle, from requirements through production support.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Java applications and RESTful services using Spring/Spring Boot.
Build and integrate APIs supporting data exchange with external partners and state entities.
Write and optimize SQL, stored procedures, and database objects.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and automated build/deployment processes.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and product owners in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Troubleshoot production issues and support release activities.
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
Extensive experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
RESTful API design and integration experience.
Solid SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and JUnit.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Preferred
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
Cloud platform experience (AWS or Azure).
Experience with Microservices architecture.
Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps).
Front-end framework experience (Angular or React).
This is a 12-month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
